7 practical tips for reducing electrosmog in your home

We have summarized here an overview of whether the effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF) or electrosmog are actually harmful to health or not. With these simple tips, you can effectively reduce electrosmog in your home in any case. You can even save money with some of them:

  1. Do not leave appliances running in stand-by mode! Always switch them off completely when you are not using them. Stand-by mode not only consumes power unnecessarily, but also continuously generates electromagnetic fields. This can lead to a considerable reduction in radiation exposure, especially with devices such as televisions, stereo systems or computers.

  2. Switchable multiple sockets help you to disconnect your devices from the mains with a single click. This significantly reduces electrosmog even further, even for devices that are not so easy to switch off in standby mode. These sockets are a simple and effective solution to minimize radiation exposure in your home without sacrificing convenience.

  3. Banish all unnecessary electrical devices from your bedroom – especially at night when the body needs to regenerate. Remove televisions, computers, tablets and other electronic devices from your sleeping area. Use battery-operated alarm clocks instead and keep your bedroom as radiation-free as possible.

  4. If you want to keep your cell phone in the bedroom at night, at least switch it to flight mode! It will then emit much less radiation. Alternatively, you can also switch your phone off or charge it in another room. Remember that even in standby mode, your smartphone is constantly communicating with radio masts and therefore emitting radiation. This is another simple way to reduce electrosmog.

  5. The router for your Wi-Fi should be positioned so that it is as far away as possible from your bed, workplace and other frequently used places in the home. Ideally, place it in a little-used area or in a hallway. Also consider whether you can switch off the router at night or use a timer to reduce radiation exposure during sleeping hours.

  6. Only switch on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on your cell phone or tablet when you really want to use them! These functions continuously emit signals, even if you are not actively using them. By switching them off when you don’t need them, you can significantly reduce your personal exposure to radiation and extend the battery life of your devices at the same time.

  7. Allow yourself times when you are surrounded by electrical devices as little as possible! A walk in nature, without a cell phone, can be truly relaxing on many levels. These “digital time-outs” not only help to reduce your exposure to radiation, but also promote your mental health, reduce stress and improve your ability to concentrate.
