Do pet trackers stress your cats?

Pet trackers are extremely practical, especially for adventurous outdoor cats.
However, they can also be dangerous for your pet under certain circumstances.

Why are pet trackers useful?

It happens too often that cats jump into a car unnoticed and are released miles away from their home or for other reasons can’t get home.
In many cases, they are simply locked up somewhere and can no longer free themselves.
GPS trackers therefore make perfect sense for cats.
No matter where your cat is, it can always be located at any time.
So it may be possible to “rescue” it from a neighbor’s garden shed or from a high tree without it being stuck there for hours.

How do pet trackers work?

A pet tracker consists of a transmitter and a receiver.
The transmitter is attached to your pet’s collar.
Your smartphone is usually used as the receiver.
As soon as your cat is equipped with a GPS tracker, you can locate it in real time via the satellite system.
Depending on the version, you can see which paths and routes your cat takes, how active it is and when and how much it sleeps.
It is even possible to have your cat tracked by friends and family so that you have multiple levels of security.

Why can pet trackers be dangerous?

As GPS trackers are attached to the collar, the pet tracker can be dangerous for cats that are not used to collars.
To prevent your cat from strangling itself during daredevil stunts, the collar should fit snugly, but not too tightly.

A second issue with GPS trackers is radiation exposure.
GPS trackers use 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G mobile networks, but also radio frequencies, WLAN or Bluetooth to transmit data.
Studies have given the all-clear in some cases, as the radiation levels from the electromagnetic radio frequency field are said to be well below the limit values.
Nevertheless, pet owners are skeptical.

Pets are exposed to many electromagnetic fields both at home and in the wild.
The high-frequency fields of pet trackers can overlap with electrical fields from appliances, transformers, overhead lines or electromagnetic fields from mobile phones and the like.

Many veterinarians therefore only recommend a pet tracker for animals that actually spend a lot of time outdoors.
At home, exposure to radiation should be kept as low as possible.
Some veterinarians even advocate temporarily switching off such devices in the home.
However, pets cannot be completely shielded from radiation.

How can you protect your pet from radiation exposure?

Radiation exposure in the home is increasing due to the use of cell phones, tablets, computers and countless electrical devices. Nevertheless, it is possible to protect your cat from the effects of electrosmog and radiation with VIVOBASE HOME protect the body. Unlike mains isolators, which cut off the entire power supply, VIVOBASE can protect the body in a different way.

VIVOBASE HOME is a device that activates a kind of natural protective shield on the surface of the body – whether human or animal. This prevents electrical and electromagnetic radiation from penetrating deep into the body.

With scientifically tested technology VIVOBASE creates an environment similar to that of fair weather in the mountains or by the sea. The antenna effect of electromagnetic radiation on humans and animals should therefore be minimal or even non-existent. You can use all your devices without any problems and surf, stream and make calls with a clear conscience thanks to VIVOBASE HOME. So get all-round protection for you and your pet today!

We will inform you once a month about new developments on the subject of electromagnetic radiation, 5G and electrosmog.
