The health effects of radiation have been known for around 100 years. Initially, the dangers of radioactivity and X-rays were not recognized. However, protective measures were introduced in the course of the 20th century. Electrosmog and cell phone radiation are less intense, but there are still safety regulations. Scientists are calling for more caution when dealing with radiation sources.
The study conducted by the BION Institute in 2023 aimed to investigate the potential function of the VIVOBASE HOME against the possible influence of electromagnetic radiation. The study was prospective, placebo-free, double-blind and randomized. The VIVOBASE HOME is designed to reduce the possible effects of WLAN radiation and other sources of electromagnetic radiation.
Conducted by the BION Institute, the study focused on the possible biological effects of cell phone radiation and their compensation by VIVOBASE. A total of 30 subjects were exposed to cell phone radiation while the VIVOBASE was switched on or off. The study was prospective, placebo-free, randomized and double-blind.
The EU study from 2021 examines the health risks of 5G. For low frequencies (FR1: 450 MHz-6 GHz), there are indications of cancer risks (e.g. gliomas) and negative effects on male fertility. There is insufficient data for high frequencies (FR2: 24-100 GHz). Non-thermal risks such as DNA damage are also being discussed. The study recommends stricter limits and further research.
The INTERPHONE study from 2010 investigated the connection between cell phone use and brain tumors in 13 countries. It found no clear link between normal use and an increased risk of gliomas or meningiomas. However, frequent users were found to have a slightly increased risk of glioma. As a result, the WHO classified mobile phone radiation as “possibly carcinogenic”.
The French CERENAT study (2014) investigated the link between cell phone use and brain tumors. In a case-control study, 253 glioma and 194 meningioma cases were compared with 892 controls. Heavy users (over 896 hours) had up to three times the risk of glioma and twice the risk of meningioma. Occupational heavy users were particularly affected.
